Lilli

July 24, 2011 – July 1, 2013

Lilli is a transfer from another rescue group and fostered by me. I was contacted by the Denver Dumb Friends League in July 2011 about Lilli who was picked up as a stray and determined to be about 10 years old. She had surgery for a lump, spay and dental problems. My husband & I picked her up and did not discover that she had severe cataracts and was blind and had hearing loss. She could see shadows in bright light and seemed to hear loud sounds. Lilli was a real trooper and put up with the other 5 dogs in my home. It did take her about 3 weeks to really eat on her own.

In June of this year she stopped eating. We thought it was due to the heat spell we were experiencing because when the temperature cooled down she ate a meal. But, after that there was no tempting her to eat. Her bodily functions were normal. We took her to the vet for a blood test and it was discovered that she had renal failure. Almost 2 years to the day we helped Lilli cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Goodbye sweet Lilli till we meet again. Now you are whole and able to play with all the other red dogs. - Rita
