Boomer 's RB Story

Boomer's RB Story

June 2014 – September 2, 2021

I hope you are well in these crazy times. My name is Craig, and along with my significant other, Dawn, we adopted Boomer in mid-June of 2014. What an amazing, sweet, smart and obviously handsome boy he turned out to be, you were very right about him! He was the perfect fit for our family and was not only all of those things but very distinguished with his younger “brother” Quincy, who was just a puppy when I brought Boomer home. I understand why he was such a favorite of Dan’s, as you told me when I came to pick him up. I will never forget how Boomer had to check me out and how we warmed to each other very rapidly. It is with a broken heart that I tell you that Boomer crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning. He was still as sweet, handsome, smart, amazing, and distinguished as he ever was, not to forget brave! He had battled some health issues for the past year and was now wearing down from the fight. Physically, he was having a very hard time and it wasn’t right to make him fight any longer. His eyes said he was brave; his body could no longer make that statement. This morning about 10:15 MST, Boomer said goodbye to us the same way he lived, with grace and dignity that he exhibited every day that he was a member of our family. We loved him dearly, although I’m not sure we could have loved him more, I will always believe he loved us harder, longer and more than we loved him. To say the words, “he will be missed” would be such an understatement, he was truly a best friend! I am sorry to pass along this information of his passing, but I know he would’ve wanted me to let you know, I could tell he felt at home with the both of you when I came to pick him up. He lived to be almost 13 1/2 years old, and our only regret was that we didn’t have him all 13 1/2 years of his life. He is, was and will always be an absolutely amazing part of our lives.

With much sincerity,

Craig and Dawn
