Luna 's Story

Luna's Story

March 9, 2021 – June12, 2021

We have had Vizslas in our family since I was young. I introduced my wife to Vizslas early in our marriage. We can't think of parenting any other breed. We have adopted three other Vizslas from Rita and 2nd Chance Vizsla Rescue. We lost one of our Vizslas last year of brain tumor. It broke our hearts. We have one other Vizsla named Kenna. With everything that happened throughout the year. We needed to take care of family and Kenna. We finally started looking for another four-legged family member. We talked with Rita about a companion for us and Kenna. Rita called us about Luna late January that she may come up for adoption. Several weeks later, maybe more, Rita called and said that she was with 2nd Chance being fostered. Time seemed to stand still. Then Luna came in season and couldn't get spayed. We waited some more time. Then my wife Sheila and I got the call that she was ready.

Rita made arrangements for us to meet Katherine and Jeff. After talking with Katherine a few times, she was so helpful on letting us know what to expect. She sent us pictures and videos of Luna. Katherine answered any question that we had. We were a little nervous Kenna had become grouchy with other dogs. My daughter, son and myself made the trip to New Mexico to meet up with Katherine and Jeff to adopt Luna. We arrived and went to a park to meet. Kenna was grouchy that day. I called Katherine she asked Kevin to stop by the park with his four Vizslas. Kevin came by. He is wonderful with all the dogs. Kenna acted really well. Katherine and Jeff arrived a short time later with Luna. We fell in love. Kenna not as much but we knew it would take a little time. We picked up Luna and headed back home. Luna has been with us for a week now. She seems to be getting more comfortable every day. We are most happy that Kenna and Luna are getting along better than we expected for such a short time. I want to thank Katherine and Jeff for taking such good care of Luna. Kevin thank you for coming and helping Kenna acclimate to the other Vizslas.

Thank you 2nd Chance Vizsla Rescue.

Thank you,

Clint and Sheila
