Abby (FKA Coco)'s Story

Abby fka Coco has made a wonderful transition to her new forever home in the Manzanita Mountains of New Mexico! The drive to her new home took 5 1/2 hours, and she loved the ride with her new brother, Ruger.

Abby and Ruger LOVE wrestling and chasing each other in the woods of her new yard. She also really enjoys helping her brother hunt squirrels there as well! We have a Whistle 3 GPS/activity tracker on her collar, and she will travel about 4 miles a day exploring in her new yard! She enjoys playing with her and Ruger's toys and taking each and every one outside through their dog door. She is so smart she figured out the dog door in just a few minutes!

We took her for first hike with us and her brother Ruger today! She LOVED it! This will be the first of many as we're avid hikers!!

Ruger still isn't 100% sure about his new baby sister. He likes to relax in his bed in front of the TV in the evenings and whenever she walks by he jumps up and leaves the room to pout. But every morning when it's time to wake up he stands outside his sister's kennel and wiggles like crazy until she wakes up.

She has an insatiable appetite! She eats two raw eggs for breakfast every morning. For lunch she and her brother share a can of chicken. For supper she either has two raw chicken thighs and their bones or some raw beef. She gets canned pumpkin, carrots, and green beans with that as well. Many nights she and Ruger will split a can of sardines!

She LOVES snuggling with us on the couch at night! She's perfectly kennel trained and loves going to her kennel to sleep at bedtime! Ruger sleeps right next to her in his bed.

We can't thank 2nd Chance Vizsla Rescue enough for saving Abby and giving her a wonderful foster home before she came to her forever home with us in the mountains!
