Copper 's Story

Copper's Story

June 13, 2018 – September 12, 2018

COPPER is my name, but I tell you what, I am PURE GOLD! I am a three-year-old Vizsla mix (maybe with Doberman or Plott hound). Not only am I VERY HANDSOME, I am an obedient, sweet boy with not a mean bone in my body. I can run like a gazelle, but I am also VERY good at being quiet and mellow. I LOVE snuggling and companionship and I don't like being left alone. I believe I was surrendered because my family was moving and couldn't take me with them...you see I am a bit bigger than most Vizslas, weighing around 76 pounds.  But don't let my size fool you, I'm a 'gentle giant' and you can't even believe the tiny ball I curl myself up into.

You might be wondering what my bad habits are... well, I’m not the bragging type, but my foster mom says I don't have any! I'm not a barker, digger, marker or big "pigger."--I'm just a bit bigger! 😉 I am a very good boy off leash with commands and I don't have a big 'prey drive' so taking me on walks, hikes, or camping would be ‘the bomb’ for me. Did I happen to mention how much I love riding in the car???I DO!

Wow! Did I luck out or not? I get to live with my foster mom FOREVER. This is what she says. ”So two words tell our story the simplest....foster fail. Since the day I met Copper and he jumped in my car with no reservations or fear, I have felt a special bond to this elegant, handsome boy. He settled in with me as his foster mom so easily and with such trust that it seemed he had no doubt he’d found his forever home. He responded to my requests so happily and just fit right in...whether it was a car ride, a walk, guests over, pretty much anything, he was eager and willing to try it out! And all too soon I couldn’t imagine my life without his gentle soul. Everywhere we go, people want to meet him and know his story. Though I can’t tell much about his past story I can tell his future story will be full of love, trips, parks, hikes, yummy treats and warm snuggles on cold nights. It’s a simple bond we share but it’s a close and special one. My heart is so happy to have unwittingly discover my new best friend. I just may have to get a bigger car.” - Julie
