My name is Butler and I am a purebred senior Vizsla. Now why, you ask, is such a distinguished gentleman like myself in need of a new home? I think it is mostly economics. The way I understand the situation is my dad got a new job and needs to relocate but every place he has looked will not allow dogs. Now I’ve been with him since I was a pup, we even used to compete together in agility contests, and so not being able to take me with him; he did not take lightly. To insure I would be well cared for he contacted 2nd Chance Vizsla Rescue.
So my Dad and I have both had to move but I am staying with this great lady who volunteers with 2CVR. She says that I am a very spry fellow for my age. I am 12 years old and she says that I really seem younger. I love to cuddle and whenever it is cold and there is a blanket, doggy pillow or rug I love to cover myself. I am crate trained, but I would rather not stay in it. I want to be near people so I can get love and cuddles. I get along very well with other dogs. I have been through obedience training, and as I said earlier I used to do agility.
Wow, am I a lucky dog or not. I found a new home with 2 great people. I will let them tell their story: -- “Butler is our new senior addition to the family. He is a 13 year old Vizsla, living his golden years in Boulder Colorado with his new family, Willie and Erika. One look at him at the foster home and we knew we were taking him home. His favorite activities include sleeping, begging for food, and cuddling. If there is a blanket nearby he paws at it until someone will throw it over him. He really is the biggest love bug, constantly hoping to give face kisses. While his old age slows him down a little, he still loves to go outside and smell around and show off his athletic abilities. Whenever we are out for walks he gets complimented on how beautiful he is, he even got mistaken for a puppy the other day! Butler really is the perfect addition to our household, full of love and positive energy. We are so lucky to have him and are honored to give him the best golden years possible! - Willie and Erika
