Kiwi Kid Tara first came to live at the Tracey house hold as a foster child in August 2019. I picked Tara up from Susan and Larry Smallwood who were fostering Tara=s brother Naki in Trinidad, Colorado. Tara made an immediate impression as a really fun Vizsla as soon as we crossed the border into New Mexico and stopped for a get acquainted hike at Sugarite State Park. Tara and my girls, Stella and Gigi, went on a great hike exploring the lakes and trails at Sugarite. Tara is the most affectionate Vizsla I had ever met, to me, my girls and to every person or four-legged creature she meets!
Tara soon joined her foster sisters and recent adopted fosters Penny and sister Misty and Copper and their families on hikes and other outdoor adventures. The Albuquerque 2nd Chance Vizsla Rescue group often meets for hikes, Tara also had play time with the Katherine and Jeff and their Vizslas at a nearby park in Albuquerque. Everyone loves Tara and found her to be a very, very, special girl and how lucky we were to foster her.
Tara and her foster sisters really enjoy long weekends at the family cabin in northern New Mexico where we get to go on extended hikes and explore. She also enjoyed trips to southern New Mexico and the family Christmas vacation exploring southern Arizona.
Tara=s profile was posted the end of September and very surprisingly only had one inquiry from a very nice lady in Phoenix, Diane. Although I dreaded the idea, I hoped that Tara would be adopted by a person or family in New Mexico so we could still get together for hikes and dog sit on weekends. I couldn’t bear having Tara live so far away so Tara was adopted as a member of the Tracey family. We can’t imagine our family without sweet and loving Tara! Tara=s brother Naki was adopted by Diane who lives in Arizona, hopefully we can have a kiwi family reunion in 2020!
